Related: About this forumPerhaps This Nomination For SOS Will Shut That Pie Hole Of McCain's The Hell Up!!
So this morning this circus clown made his 6th appearance on Face The Nation this year and what was he advocating to the country? That it would be better in a troubled world today for the United States to have no Secretary of State at all, instead of having one who made media statements that he found improperly nuanced! The jobs and economy issue seems to be taking a back seat in Mr. McCain's priorities and he comes off as a bitter, obstinate, fool. Simply stated he should resign but we all know that there are two chances of that happening so in light of that I would like to suggest that our great President stick a fork in all of this SOS talk by McCain and his cronies by placing this gentleman's name in nomination for this position in his cabinet and then we can move forward with what should be the focus of our elected officials, our economy and jobs!

(15,444 posts)should appoint U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice as SoS. If he doesn't, it would give the impression that: 1) there might be something to their well-propagated LIES, and 2) he would look weak (their intention in order to weaken his mandate).
Besides, Republicans don't have any credibility when it comes to criticizing President Obama's choice if it is Susan Rice, considering Condi Rice, who they fell over each other to praise.
On the other hand, General Wesley Clark should be nominated as Secretary of Defense. I like Sen. John Kerry a lot, but we saw what happened last time a seat in MA opened due to our beloved Liberal Lion's passing - we got obstructionist Scott Brown, and the Republicans rejoiced for months afterward.

(3,502 posts)General Clark would be a great nomination. It's hard to see how his nomination could be blocked, but perhaps I underestimate the GOP. Yes, I'm sure I do. Somehow he'd be painted as a socialist, Muslim, lesbian by the time they were done. Not that there's anything wrong with being any of those.

(13,877 posts)Susan Rice or anyone else who is qualified should be considered. Under the same scenario, it would look weak to appoint her as long as we're still dodging Benghazi bullets...which should soundly be ignored. She only got it because .... and the list goes on. Once past this "gish-gallop", Obama will move forward appropriately.
