That's what I was thinking

I never called Bush a Nazi and argued with other liberals, probably some here, who liked to make Bush/Hitler comparisons. But with Trump I see scary parallels to the way Hitler came to power in the 1930's. Right wing populism combined with demonizing particular ethnic groups, working to undermine confidence in democratic institutions, and trying to create the sense that things are irrevocably broken and he is some kind of savior. He's also amplifying the voice of the fringe alt-right and bringing it into the mainstream. And the "Skittles" tweet (albeit by his son, but Trump Sr never disavowed it) was eerily similar to the poisonous mushroom theory from 1930's Nazi textbooks.

Hillary was right to call many of his supporters deplorable, and I was sorry she retreated from that in the 2nd debate.
