Early voting. Just had a thought.

Is it possible that the same old voters have gotten educated about early voting and we'll find the numbers way down on election day? The result being no particular change since 2012?

number may be skewed by the Republicans who stay home. Also, Obama addressed the long lines in his SOTU last year and the Dems have been making a lot of headlines with early voting changes. (Lawsuits, GOP states cutting back, etc) so there's greater awareness than in previous elections. But I think a big part may be that people aren't waiting until the end because they've decided there's nothing Clinton can do at this point that will make her worse than Trump. More than a few people wait until the last minute, because they don't want to vote and then have the candidate do something game changing. Also, people sometimes don't make up their mind until they see how others are voting.

So my answer: It's a combination of things
