Misogyny is a huge part of the Hillary hatred, but it's also partially not wanting to engage in actual politics with actual people because it would require them to give up ideological purity, and ideological purity is addictive because it enables people to feel like they are doing God's work to cleanse the world of Sin. I know I said that in 1980 as a young naive leftie. When, BTW, the left abandoned Jimmy carter in a big way and gave us Reagan.

Now - what we wouldnt give for a second Carter term and no Reagan.

Also the folly of this logic is that often in history things get so bad that people are downtrodden and defeated.. and barely surviving from day to day. And things go from bad to worse. Revolutions, optimism happens mostly in times of rising expectations.
