2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThread of support for future POTUS Hillary Clinton
In spite of a constant onslaught of completely unfounded accusations from her political adversaries for nearly 25 years, Secretary (and soon to be President) Clinton has stood firm in her unending advocacy for the American people.
She is tough. She is a fighter. She has dedicated her life to this country, making untold sacrifices along the way. The ridiculous number of investigations targeting her, and the fact that they have uncovered NOTHING indicate she will be one of (if not the) most ethical figures ever elected to the Presidency.
Today, only 11 days before her election to President, a partisan FBI Director ha made a last ditch effort to derail her candidacy. Like all others, it will fail.
I support her. I have her back. And I will break open a fine bottle of scotch on the evening of November 8th.

(5,902 posts)I've had my differences with her - but the nation needs her. And what she'll need as president more than anything - more even than her husband's star power - is a Democratic Congress.

(90,773 posts)Earlier today I decided this was a good day to run errands and get away from the news. But when I heard on my car radio that this one traced back to an Anthony Weiner investigation, I reflexively breathed a sigh of relief. Anthony Weiner? Oh for Pete's Sake! Anthony WEINER is rolled into this now? This has just gotten tawdry. It's now starting to become comical. Particularly when it looks like (and cooler and more knowledgeable heads have already indicated) it has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton or her email server.
I stand with Hillary, as firmly and resolutely as ever. I have since I first discovered her in 1992. She had me at "I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies..."

(2,338 posts)This doesn't change anything.
I also believe it won't change anything for those who have already decided to vote for her.
Just more Rep propaganda. A big ole nothingburger.
If anyone switches their vote from Clinton, they were just looking for a reason to do so. I doubt that this is a game changer.

I still like Bernie, but this (R) junk has to stop and I'm working to elect Hillary now.

(409 posts)Despite being the target of one of the biggest witch hunts in modern times, her dedication to this country and to the causes she believes in is unwavering. She fights for a country that has shown her more hate than most could ever begin to comprehend. When even the strongest among us would have likely given up or broken down, she doesn't falter. She dusts herself off and comes back stronger. Her unrelenting drive in the face of opposition is something to be admired. It was always going to take someone like her to become the first female President. I feel blessed that I get to witness it first-hand. That's why I'm proud to cast my vote for Hillary Clinton on November 8th.

(18,881 posts)YET. Just so I could vote for her again with more relish, if that's possible. But alas, my straight Dem ballot has already been accepted and scanned (I love mail-in/drop-off voting and being able to check your ballot online!), so it's a done deal.
I'm so sick of the GOP. They're horrible excuses for human beings.
