Even if it hadn't been challenged, would this new Comey email angle have changed votes?

At the height of Clinton smearing during Bill's impeachment trial, public support for removing him never broke more than a few percentage points outside of the hardcore right.

And Bill's various dalliances were well-known before he was even elected the first time.

Why would the public care about this email business when they didn't care about Bill's dirty laundry, or for that matter, not enough swing voters cared about Bush's WAR CRIMES to keep him from being re-elected?

How much of an effect will this have?

This Comey bit wouldn't have done much even if the Democrats slept all weekend and just read about it this morning.

This Comey bit will only agitate the hard right who get apoplectic when Fox News tells them Hillary's third cousin spit on the sidewalk

No. People think Trump is odious. He'll have his base + 1-2% alcibiades_mystery Oct 2016 #5

It's another excuse for the media to make vague accusations against Hillary.

I don't think the FBI wants Trump...

Actually, I'm fairly certain that most republican office holders don't want Trump.

What they wanted was enough of a "scandal" to save the House and possibly the Senate in those close "battleground" states.

They wanted to stop the "wave election" that would have swept Republicans from power.

Most people not only dislike him, but despise him.

But Trump is such a bad candidate, that I don't think it will matter in the end

it may energize one or both bases to vote that hadn't planned on voting. either way not a game changer.
