At any one time, the CIA has over 23,000 employees (wikipedia). That likely excludes shadow types. If you look at the number of current and ex employees, it probably far exceeds 100,000. Most of those never did anything in the field.

Do you really think 100,000 + have strings they can pull in any way whatsoever? If they did, can you imagine the chaos we would face?

There are probably a very, VERY, small number of ex cia (or any other agency) that have the contacts to do anything significant involving the agency, and you likely would never know they worked there.

It's like saying because someone was in the army they can take down the marines, because the army hates the marines, right? Aha.
