But happy as well, because there is hard data to support what most of us have suspected and what Clinton campaign insiders likely know: she's winning Florida and North Carolina, and is going to be elected president.

The "doom and gloom" is coming from people who are for some reason very, very, very concerned about just about everything (can't quite figure out why that is, darn it! So puzzling!) and from those who like to revel in bad news for whatever reason and will spin every positive development into a negative.

This is the stage of the election where common sense has to take a larger and larger part of one's analysis. And common sense indicates that Clinton has an unbreakable wall of EVs that exceed 270. And she's also winning in at least three "gravy" states.

The campaign internal polling tells the story. The outcome of this election was never, ever in doubt.
