was the "mall for commodities" in the 1800s. It was similar to Chicago's Mercantile Exchange (where that is still operating).

They renovated it and made it into a multi-floor food court, although they recently opened a Penzey's in there, so yay!

The channel 6 video here showed people had started lining up last night to be near the front of the line.

The video also showed where they are setting up the stage and it isn't in front of Independence Hall but will be a block north on the Market Street grassy area next to the Visitor's Center with the music stage running parallel to Market Street. I.e., the performers will have Independence Hall (which is on Chestnut St) as a backdrop whereas the speaker's stage is backing the Visitor's Center. The podium looks to be facing east towards the river.

You may be able to go back around where the Constitution Center grassy area is between Arch and Race, assuming that part is open for the public to watch. In the pic below, the beginning of that grassy area is at the bottom where you see the banner (the street near the bottom is Arch) -

There are federal buildings all around the area so I expect everything will be closed off by Secret Service at those surrounding buildings. Just have to hope they have some jumbotrons down there!

77. I live to blocks from Independence Hall. Took a walk to see what was happening around the Mall.

The entrance point to the rally is on 4TH and CHESTNUT STS. At 2:15 ET the line extended 6 blocks to Lombard St. Never seen the line that long in the 15 yrs that I've lived here and all the events that have been held on the Mall. Amazing

I must say, President Obama is just riveting for me to watch. Always has been that way, always will be that way. Secretary Clinton for me is sincere and she supports nearly all the same policies and that's what's most important here. I don't need to watch her every speech. I will know that she is working hard to achieve success in the same broad-minded expansive policies supported by most democrats and by my favorite President. That's just my view. I know many others are super fired up seeing her too and won't throw cold water on anyone who also supports by and large the same policies that we do.
