My friend in Kentucky just reported some questionable polling place shenanigans.

His polling place only had one machine and no paper ballots because "they were expecting low turnout." What the hell kind of fuckery is that? It makes me think they were expecting low turnout from Republicans so they figured they'd suppress the Dem voters as much as they could.

Truth be told, I'm not sure who he's voting for, but dammit he should be allowed to vote.

1. Look up the numbers to call if there is an issue at the polling place and text them to your friend

I hope that your friend finds another place to cast his vote and reports the one that made the excuse that there was low turnout. If there was low turnout they should have a case of paper ballots! Ridiculous and uncalled for. The Republicans can't help but screw with people's rights to vote! I am glad that my state has ballots that you can mail in or drop off at the police station. I live in an area that used to be mainly republican but it is becoming more diversified. This election I haven't seen many signs for either candidate because we definitely have some extremists in this county that would probably do something. Tell him to not give up!

4. Every county clerk's office has a person answering the phone to handle issues. Call that office.

3. Being a Kentuckian myself, I find this peculiar. All of our state house seats are up for election

Here in the western part of the state counties were expecting a very heavy turnout. if they say they are short-handed or don't have enough paper ballots, then something is amiss.

9. Definitely call the election hotline, that's very weird and was not what I experienced in Louisville

I lived out in the state most of my life and never experienced anything like that either, but I can definitely imagine some towns where the idiots in charge would try to pull some shenanigans.

We'll see what happens. Honestly, that's the only reason I can come up with why they would say they expected low turnout. They conveniently left off "...of Trump supporters."
