I'll start.......Kamala Harris is our new US Senator!!! She is likely to have a HUGE future in the party. Maybe she'll be the one to finally break the glass ceiling.

Dan has been tirelessly working to resolve the Flint water crisis. When congress is on a break, Dan is back here, traveling his district and meeting with his constituents and taking on their problems.

Josh Shapiro will be our new Attorney General, a guy who'll keep corruption at bay.

Pennsylvania also raised the mandatory retirement age for judges from 70 to 75.

Those PA results were fishy AFAIC. There was no way Democrats would vote for both tRump AND Toomey while also voting for Dems for the row offices. Some man-in-the-middle attack had to be going on at the central tabulating machines, only it's tough to prove without subpoenaing the source code.

Though only by 5,000 votes and subject to recount, Pat Cooper has apparently defeated McCrory.

Also, Dems now have a majority on the NC Supreme Court, though that may be undone by a court packing scheme in which the lame duck gov appoints 2 Repub to the Supreme Court before he leaves office (unfortunately NC constitution would allow this).

who is very liberal, posted on Facebook that she voted for Trump. I was heartbroken. My niece also lives in Philadelphia and she's a late 20s tattooed pin up model. I doubt she even voted.

She was a fantastic community organizer in Seattle during the darkest of the Bush years. She always stood up for human rights and was an effective leader, even as those rights were being attacked at the federal level.

Now she's headed to DC and I look forward to her continuing in McDermott's tradition of being a steadfast progressive.

I am not home much, but when I was, I chatted with Republican neighbors and acquaintances. Very low key chats about the candidates. It took a while, but several were convinced to vote for Clinton, and several said they would not vote for Trump. To me this is positive. I will do this one on one approach for the midterms.

During Presidential elections, we always turn out over 70% of registered voters. I'm very proud of that. Oregon often competes with us, with it's mail-in ballots, but we still win most of the time.

They both beat Republican incumbents. The former DA was really bad. If she thought a rape victim might not show up to testify in the trial, she threw them IN JAIL! Glad to see her go.

Clinton got 54% to Trump's 42% in Harris County.

In a hotly contested race for Railroad Commisioner, the Democrat, Grady Yarborough, was victorious! That's a big deal because the RC deals heavily with the fossil fuel industry.

First and foremost the Seattle metropolitan area passed ST3 which will build 62 new miles of light rail over the next 25 years. This will give most people in the region a viable alternative to driving.

Both Governor Jay Inslee and Senator Patty Murray were re-elected.

Voters approved a bump in the minimum wage.

It's the election of Drumpf which spoiled an otherwise good day.

It provided that extreme risk protection orders last one year. The measure permitted petitioners to ask for the order to be renewed for an additional year. I was driving to work on Wednesday after a sleepless night. Walked in to Starbucks not wanting to connect with anyone....then realized..hey..the majority of people in my state voted for Hillary and we now have both state senate and house back to the Democrats again..and we voted an awesome Democrat for secretary of state... I then was able to lift my head and think...okay...we are going to make it through this...and start fighting....proceeded to pay for all my subscriptions to progressive voices (i.e. DU, TPM, etc). I'm here to help DU financially as much as I can...thanks all!

In my former state, Alaska(I left at the end of July)Dems and independent progressives took enough seats to form a coalition to organize the state House with a couple of moderate R's...this ended twenty-two uninterrupted years for party-line R organization.
Baby steps, but it's something.

State Question 777 was designed to establish a constitutional right for farmers and ranchers to engage in farming and ranching practices. It was defeated. ( )

State Question 780 was designed to reclassify certain property offenses and simple drug possession as misdemeanor crimes. It was approved. (FUCK YES!)

State Question 781 was designed to use money saved by reclassifying certain property and drug crimes as misdemeanors, as outlined in State Question 780, to fund rehabilitative programs. It was approved. (Sing it!)

State Question 790 was designed to repeal Section 5 of Article 2 of the Oklahoma Constitution, which prohibits public money from being spent for religious purposes. It was defeated. (Hallelujah!)

State Question 792 was designed to allow grocery stores and convenience stores to sell full-strength beer and wine. It was approved. ( )

This means my wife can finally get a medical marijuana prescription for her many ailments. It does really help her fibromyalgia, depression and ptsd. Of course I will try to get one too,but this shit should be legal for recreational purposes!!!!
