we lost just because of one message that other side had... jobs jobs jobs jobs

1. He blamed jobs loss to NAFTA and TPP which resonated to voters, heck he got many Obama voters. That is why many trump voters approved Obama according to exit polls.

2. Just think of yourself, how many have felt the grunt of layoffs and jobs being outsourced to cheaper destinations like India, Mexico and other parts of world. Did you not want sometime that someone can stop this movement? Yes I know when I analyze the movement, I come to conclusion that we need to develop new jobs in clean energy and biotech but see all these need educated workforce. There were well paying blue collar jobs that moved and unless we can retrain them, they will not be employed in these areas. If someone promises them that he going to factory jobs back to USA, that will resonate, this is a populist message. Truth is that jobs will not come back, but its too late, we lost most critical election in 21 century, SCOTUS could have reshaped our future.

3. His lies about Ford etc hurt HRC in MI, even though Ford released statement, the message was out, it resonated.

4. He further blamed Obamacare on job loss by saying this hurt business, so people did not worry about loss of healthcare, they though first about themselves which is dependent on JOB.

5. We almost gutted our call centers and they were all located in low cost cities in USA, where do these people and go and work, there is nothing for them. I can see how they are hurt and they are looking to blame someone. These fellow citizens of ours are suffering. One thing democrats missed is that we ignored these voters, President Obama should have worked on something that directly targeted this electorate, they are rural but were blue collar, working class. We should have launched major initiative to create new jobs with help of special federal incentives to move jobs in these areas, this is where we screwed... its too late and I doubt Don has will to do this.

7. I goto India for business very often and I can see the vibrant economy that is flourishing and I pause everytime to think that most of these young indian workforce took a job of someone back home. Whatever happened, I know as well that there was probably no way we could have stopped this but truth is bitter.

I can go on and on...

1. Be careful

Tried to make the same point prior to the election and was branded a "concern troll"

3. That is why have written truth is bitter, I think this is a postmortem time for us and we must pause

and take deep breath and understand why this happened... whatever happened did inadvertently move the country back 10's of years. All our progress was decimated.

2. Repukes ALWAYS run on jobs, jobs, jobs

just to get your vote. It's a bait and switch the electorate falls for time and time again. The only jobs repukes deliver are snow jobs, hit jobs, and con jobs. Democrats need to scream at the top of their lungs that the repuke clamor for jobs, jobs, jobs is nothing but empty promises they have no intention of keeping.

Once they're elected, they operate the same way as usual: shrinking the government to the size that can fit inside a woman's Fallopian tubes; big tax cuts for the big bosses and bigger pay cuts for the workers; yanking health care from your grandma, starving her in the process while calling it Christian charity; etc.

4. All you are saying is exactly true, but we have this electorate that is suffering and they are ready

to take any kind of risks, even that means deploying Don the Con.

13. Their "jobs" are always tax cuts for business, which everyone knows doesn't work

Although Trump mentioned low taxes he primarily ran on:

Tariffs
Infrastructure
Immigration

The tariffs and infrastructure stuff are more democratic type ideas.

14. I donot know personally how I will handle this man... time will heal my depression

I am certainly positive he will not do anything for anyone other than his "clan", he has no interest in making anyones life better...

He had a populist message like that got Hitler in power...

5. Hillary ran on jobs

Perhaps you didn't see any of her rallies or visit her website. She always talked about jobs, training, education, and many other things.

The difference is that she didn't lie, the media didn't cover her every word, the media perpetuated lies about her. Oh, and a good number of Trump voters are misogynists.

7. Yes I know she said about new jobs in clean energy and hitech... that needs different kind

of workforce... the current skillset of this electorate does not match the requirements and retraining is not easy, not many of people are willing to go back to school in middle age.

9. Coal is not coming back

And steel probably isn't either. So, you are saying she should have been untruthful. That's really swift reasoning.

How about vetching about Trump for a change? I guess you liked his (false, ugly) message more.

10. I am not saying she should be untruthful and I am also saying he had a populist message

and that will never materialize... and we could have done nothing to retain these jobs other than retraining the workforce, we as a country did not do a good job this... and finally we democrats suffered.

20. They weren't overtly discussed in the tv ads I saw. Which is what many people see.

You think the average voter in Rust Belt is going to seek out the stuff you mention?

Most ads I saw centered on how bad Trump is.

A few were feel-good ads with Clinton's voice.

Not one focused on jobs.

Not one mentioned or alluded to Obama's attempt to get job bills passed.

Not one mentioned or alluded to Republican obstruction.

Growing JOBS every single quarter under a DEMOCRATIC president.

He brought us JOBS. This is how the Dems are rewarded?

11. And Hillary wanted the biggest modern increase in minimum wage and voters didn't care. You're not

The first to suggest Hillary blow smoke up
People's asses. But we really think people would let her get away with that?

12. Its difficult unless you have spoken to people whose jobs has been outsourced and they are in

late 40's or early 50's... they blame the system for this, they donot want to retrain. HRC had very valid message about jobs but she spoke truth but this set of people want the same jobs back which we know will not happen. But the orange man made false promised and sold them snake oil.

And they were are already earning more than minimum wages.

My god ... I hate him to my core ...

I am still trying to decipher what happened and my post summerized what I can see from my vantage point... I can see even people in CA/OR/WA suffering, and I spoke to few, all of them voted for orange man... for the reason I told in the post.

IMO it's a clear demonstration of the breathtaking stupidity in this country, aided by the corporate owned serial lying stenographers.

22. Trump has already back-peddled on the coal jobs

Admitting there is little market for coal. It's hard to compete with a pathological liar. Now Trump is talking roads and infrastructure when congress blocked Obama on this big time. We are dealing with evil pathology and we are too f**king nice.

17. See I just posted what I observed and frankly this job movement troubled me... I am in middle

of where jobs are being outsourced (we call it transitioning) to low cost countries. I see these incredibly competent folks left with severance package, some find jobs (even better) but the ones those are in 50's, they really find hard... Our private sector always want to hire younger worker... we can run away but this is quite true in many situations. Why does Med Insurance company ask a company, average age and other details (male vs female) before giving a group insurance quote?

Jobs issue is systemic and unless we all ready to sit together and take a holistic view, its not going to move... HRC was the best to solve this but we lost, now the electorate against her have drained their future down the drain... they also took me and you with them.

21. She didn't win those votes where she needed to.

Aggregate numbers mean little with an electoral college.

She didn't win those votes where she needed to and in great enough numbers to overcome voter suppression.

23. Really, not jobs per se, but high paying jobs in the Rust Belt

That did not require significant retraining. Unfortunately, not sure how to achieve that. Massive taxes on outsourcing perhaps.
