It is great to be back here but I have a confession to make:

No...I did NOT vote for Trump...

I was active in a couple groups on FB to which I belong which were populated by largely Trump-positive individuals and tried to posit some issues which we discuss here. I have never seen or dealt with such irrational, fascistic, idiotic, uninformed, racist, anti-Semitic (BY JEWS!!), demoncially-lockstep, dittohead individuals in my life.

I am so relieved to return here to sanity.

1. I had some FB "friends" from H School, 45 years ago, who turned out to be Trump supporters.

Lord, I'm sure many were young ignorant racists back them, but I thought they would have actually adopted some Christian thought -- since they claim to be Christians -- or have grown up to be a bit more accepting of others. Nope, vile, confederate flag loving, white wingers. I had several "dump" me, which was fine. If hostilities continue, our 50th year reunion might turn into a big brawl.

There are some vile people in this country.

Professional and business people were off the rails.

3. No joke. I couldn't believe some of those, and the fake news lies, trashing of Snopes and

other fact-checkers, their denial when facts were presented, etc.

I did run across a few Democrats that I would have thought might have stayed with the deplorables. That was nice. One of them actually blasted a few white wingers gloating about Trump's victory -- and so-called "repudiation of Obama" -- so harshly that they deleted their posts and left FB, for awhile at least.

On the other hand, I met some really good people across the nation totally opposed to Trump's trash. I'll likely continue participating in those groups.

6. Most of my classmates from the class of 1973 are this way.

They openly brag about how Republican they are, that they are willfully stupid and keep voting against their economic self-interests time after time.

They are vile. They are stupid. We Dems cannot reach them--ever.

9. They really are. I can remember many years ago when these people trashed the "Mexicans."

These were the migrant workers who worked in the orchards here in southern Oregon because the employers wanted them for the cheap labor. They were like human filth to these bigots.

Now the "problem" is with the "illegals." Same shit, different day with these bigots.

They also have the mindset women have no business in the labor force "taking" the jobs away from these entitled white dudes.

I just say to hell with them. Let 'em learn the hard way if they ever will learn. Talking to them is like hitting my head against a brick shithouse.

12. How quickly everyone forgot about W.

It is my hope that they will not be able to successfully blame Obama and Democrats for the Republicans and Trump's mistakes or intentional acts.

I plan on pointing out everything to the Trumpsters I know! They have no idea what is coming that they voted for!

When Medicare is privatized and their mom and dad cannot afford the difference between their voucher and the costs of their insurance policy I will remind them.

When the infrastructure is built with private equity rather than Federal loans/bonds and all they get are new toll roads and bridges while old roads and bridges are left to further deteriorate , I will remind them.

When there are no migrants to pick the fruits and veggies I will remind them.

When they lose net neutrality and the government is eavesdropping on all their communications, I will remind them.

I could on go all day talking about back room abortions, the rise in birth rate among the poor without access to birth control...

Only FB groups I participate in I've selected carefully, so have no such experience as you. There are a couple 'friends' from long ago with whom I disagree about politics, so I don't engage them on the subject.
