The insanity of states running elections

Here's just one example.

My son in law witnessed a professor from PA visiting Iowa on Nov 8.

He had to fly back to PA in order to vote in person.

There ought to be a Federal law governing all states re voting early, postal, registration etc

And have voting machines that can be audited in every state.

America this is insanity.

And now there is no chance of any real reform happening.

I wholeheartedly agree. ATM's are secure. Why not universal voting machines? CurtEastPoint Nov 2016 #3

Are you proposing that one should be able to vote for all local and statewide offices and ballot proposals by showing up at any polling place in the country?

Not sure how that would work.

Different registration systems. Different methods of purging the rolls. Different voting procedures. Different rules for conduct at polling places. Different I'D requirements... And so on, and so on. If some developing nation did it this way, we would be highly critical.
