in the general.

I thought my countrypersons' judgment was sounder than they showed it to be by late in the evening Nov. 8th.

The candidacy Trump presented did not deserve the support of voters, yet so many gave him their votes. IMO the country has passed a certain threshold in anti-intellectualism and racism that resulted in the election of a crude bigot to the White House.

7. Yep. People who insist the result had to do with economic issue messaging are kidding themselves.

Do you believe that had enough of an impact to sway voters' minds, or change the outcome?

...doesn't jibe with Portman (a strong proponent of the TPP) defeating Strickland (an opponent of the TPP) by more than 21 points.

Basically, I think claims that Trump beat Clinton due to economic messaging is absolute hogwash.

Voter suppression, racism, sexism, xenophobia, the FBI...those were factors.

muddle-headedness.

I wanted my countrypersons to vote as I did, although I realize that is pie-in-the-sky thinking. Let's call it an advanced wish, though, and it was still disappointing to see that so many people voted for such a monstrous candidate.
