Indeed, my father was 94 years old and sharp as a tack when he passed. Bernie shows that same vitality with no signs of slowing down. Despite his age, he is extremely energetic and particularly adept at reaching out and relating to YOUNG people... in fact, his age has become one of his BEST assets. And, with age, comes WISDOM... never forget that!

So, please don't sell Bernie short!! He's the future of our party!!

The PA recount is still on. Trump and his Repub cronies may have stopped the request for a statewide recount by jacking the cost of filing beyond what Stein could pay by the deadline, but the recount continues, precinct by precinct. All she needs to do is reduce Trump's slim lead of 0.8% to 0.5% and that would trigger an automatic recount of the whole state.

Find this and other news of the PA recount progress here:

http://www.palmerreport.com/politics/no-pennsylvania-recount-effort-isnt-yes-mainstream-media-lying/359/

Anybody here from PA? Notarized recount petitions from only 3 voters per precinct is all it takes to initiate a recount for each precinct. If any of you could volunteer to do that in your precinct, we would all be grateful. Hurry, democracy needs you!

Didn't Steve Jobs start Apple Computers in the basement of his home? So did Richard Branson of Virgin fame. So say what you will about credibility of something being measured by the size and status of the building it came from. In fact, I'm writing this post from a one room cabin much smaller than your basement at this very moment. Does that make what I have to say any less credible than, say...your remarks?

I respectfully disagree with your statements about Jill Stein's funding. WI jacked the filing fee from $1m to $3.something million, which left her without any additional reserves to cover the last minute fee gouge before the deadline only hours away. If she had had even one more day to raise the funds, she could have done it, in my opinion, which apparently doesn't count for squat, since I'm writing it from a room even smaller than basement!

And find this story at Palmer Reports which was sourced from an ABC affiliate who walked back the screaming headline that all of MSM reported, and updated their article with the truth:

But I think it is important to distinguish between more robust news outlets and a guy posting stuff in his basement, figuratively speaking. People seem to put The Palmer Repot on equal footing with actual news sources, when it is really just a person who collects stories from other news sites and draws conclusions based on them (sometimes specious ones, in my opinion) and shares them as if they are facts.

In terms of Jill Stein and the funding, she had raised close to 7 million dollars. Assuming she spend $3 million on Wisconsin, that still leaves enough to cover the $1 million in PA that she declined to pay.

To be honest, I am dubious of her motives for a variety of reasons, not the least of which being that she actively and aggressively worked to do everything in her power to try to stop Hillary Clinton from becoming president, even knowing that this was the alternative. I am also annoyed with her continued constant haranguing and insulting of Democrats, while as the same time taking their money.

In any case, with respect to Bill Palmer, I am sure he occasionally digs up accurate info, but I would consider him as reliable a source as any random DUer or poster on another message board.

I've not sourced any evidence that it's being financed by the DNC. They may be contributing to it now that HRC is onboard. And I'm sure Hillary supporters like me donated to the cause because of the benefit to Hillary in the long run. It appears to be all Jill Stein's thing but I am still stymied as to why. There's no love loss between her and Hillary. They trashed each other during the election cycle. Stein says she's doing it for the integrity of the voting process, which would be noble if I hadn't missed signs of altruism in her persona during her campaign.

But you know what? I don't care who's doing it or why. I'm just glad election mischief is finally getting the attention it deserves that it never got in 2000 or 2004. And if it proves the election was rigged, hacked, flipped, stolen or whatever and the People's Choice gets the presidency she deserves, especially if it exposes Trump for the loser he really is, then I will feel that justice was served and I'll be a happier and much relieved little camper.

Hoping she didn't have a hand in all the mischief and dirty deeds that sabotaged Bernie's chances of winning during the primary. Unfortunately, I think that's why she didn't initiate and lead the recount effort. If innocent of that, the recount outcome may have had a more positive outcome with her leading it.

The only one who was cheating and sabotaging was Bernie. His team was busted hacking voter models for crying out loud.

Sorry the truth hurts, but Bernie screwed us big time. I've never seen a more divisive campaign. From the "lock her up" bullshit at his rallies to his failure to concede when it was clear that he lost. All his bullshit innuendo ended up doing was turning young people off to the most qualified candidate to ever run for office in my lifetime. He fed right into all the shit they were seeing in the fake news flooding social media.

He will go down in history as worse than Nader being as how he USED our party to do it.

Voter fraud and probably hacking were not the problems anyway. ELECTION fraud and ballot rigging by the Republicans were the problems, as evidenced by the recount observers who uncovered hidden ballots, damaged ballots, missing logbooks, mismatched ballots and tally reports. Oh, and uncounted absentee ballots by the thousands that election officials went to court for to keep all those ballots from being counted.

Using some of it to pay recount fees and some of it in support of election integrity efforts in the future (i.e. what the Green Party itself ostensibly works towards).

I did not read, nor claim, that the Dem Party was funding the recount. My claim is that Democrats are funding the recount and make up the majority of the people donating.

Look how many Democrats here on DU, for example, have been doing so.

36. The Mango only gained votes in WI...
Tue Dec 20, 2016, 01:44 AM
Dec 2016

"Wisconsin completed a 10-day recount financed by the Stein campaign on Monday, resulting in an increase in Trump’s lead over Hillary Clinton from 22,617 to 22,748 votes."

There was just no way that Hillary could have overcame a 20k vote deficit to actually take the state. As much as I would have loved to see her do it, I think this was actually a giant waste of money.

IF Hillary had thought there was even a slight chance of winning, she would have asked for the recount. She had the ground game to do it and the money. BUT she knew that there was no making up that kind of deficit and it would only hurt her supporters (us) and it was better to let the wounds heal, than to keep ripping off a scab.

Now we are faced with these reality's.

First: That Democrats gave money to Jill and now that its over, where is that money going EXACTLY.
Second: We were given false hope. And suckered out of money that could have gone to actual democrats.
Third: I now get to see on FB all the a**hat Trumpsters posting this BS about this being Hillary's 4th defeat.

In the end, what did we really gain?

Tue Dec 20, 2016, 11:15 AM

This applies to all manner of charities. There is a hipster phenomenon of folks working urban streets in pairs, wearing colorful t shirts, getting you to sign up for ongoing monthly charitable donations. The charity receives about 10% of the donation, the rest sustains the operating expenses of getting that 10, including paying the people asking for donations a healthy wage. People have known this for years, yet are happy to donate in this matter, with that level of efficiency, because it makes them feel good and $50/month for 10 years does not impact them. The causes are uniquely targeted at younger people with money. Not feeding hungry kids or wounded warriors, it is almost always a social issue. I fully expect an ongoing charity fighting Trump to pop up soon. And to be very successful.

Sounds like you support the "Get Over It. Trump Won" point of view, which is your choice. After all, it's a free country...at least it is until Jan 20th 2017. No telling after that...
