What do we think of President Obama's handling of this Russian interference? I'm a bit flummoxed by

his lack of public response but give him the benefit as to maybe he's working behind the scenes. He seems to always be attempting to appease the repubs and personally, I'm really sick of it. The way they treated him should have been one of the many incentives to blow the whistle on all of them. You suck Mitch, you really do.

And his opponent is Mitch McConnell.

He's had 8 years of their obstruction, he knows how they play hardball - no compromise. Why the hell does he think they're going to sing kumbaya NOW? We all know he's smarter than that. So the question remains: why?

Is Obama playing his hand as the ultimate take down of Trump? Having Trump making all his cabinet moves...but now this leaks out and he wants an investigation finished before inauguration and then bam, pull the rug out and call for martial law or whatever he can do to stop him and cause the ultimate humiliation?

Just watched the latest Bourne: if our CIA is as high tech as that, don't they know Trump was connecting with Russia and can prove all this??

Pipe dream probably...

martial law suggestion in your response.

Remember all the RW talkin that he would try to hang on to the Presidency beyond his term?

He's kind of between a rock and a hard place now because this situation - an attempt by a foreign power to influence the outcome of an election - probably warrants doing something as dire as martial law - invalidating this election - and revoting in a new election - BUT - can you imagine the consequences of that?

Right now I feel pretty sorry for President Obama. I could see him being conflicted and just wanting to put this behind him and walk away and knowing that he has to step in and do the right thing.

Unfortunately - in this partisan climate we live under chaos would ensue.

Check and mate!!!!

The news about the treachery had to come out to the public first to prepare them for what's about to drop.

That it is being disclosed now may in fact be priming us for what's to come. Could the remaining part of the "review" contain details of the election itself? Was Russian interference being anticipated, tracked and monitored in real time?

If that's what he hopes he's wasting time.

Unleash every piece of info and expose these aholes. Arrests ought to be made.

The election ought to be scrapped and run again.

And declare the GOP candidates unfit and traitors.

Get all this info out, actual proof shown to the public...throw in calls from senators on both sides for electors to be the heroes and "save out country" by using the ability our constitution gave them. This way, it's not "sore losers", playing games...this is about the security and history of our country...

What a great narrative...and best of all, McConnell goes down after all these years...

the data the intelligence community had compiled and tried to obtain a bipartisian response to the Russian's conduct in trying to influence the outcome of our election. The fact that the GOP, including McConnell, screamed foul and accused Obama of trying to politicizing of the election is the GOP showing who they truly are. They have no scruples and will do whatever is needed to win an election even by hook or by crook. They have no principles or morals. They have proven this time and time again throughout the 2016 campaign by licking Trump's boots no matter what he did or said. They were willing to ride his coattails to victory no matter what he did or said.

As far as your point about President Obama's lack of a public response. Had Obama gone rogue in the likes of Comey (who BTW went rogue not once, but twice and seemed to suffer no repercussions, though not surprising for white men of power who seem to have this innate right to break or ignore any rules they feel fit to break or ignore, which Obama never had the luxury of) and discussed the CIA findings publicly, prior to the election, he would have been publicly accused by the GOP of trying to influence the election outcome and Hillary would have taken the brunt of the blame and accused of trying to influence the election by the same people who have accused her of being untrustworthy and dishonest and wouldn't have voted for Hillary in the first place, but would have now had a different reason to hate her.
