For whatever it is worth:Celebrities Urge GOP Electors To Deny Trump Electoral College Wins

High-profile actors and musicians are joining calls to deny Donald Trump the 270 electoral votes he needs to clinch the presidency, urging members of the Electoral College to choose someone more qualified in a video posted on YouTube Wednesday.

“As you know, our Founding Fathers built the Electoral College to safeguard the American people from the dangers of a demagogue, and to ensure that the presidency only goes to someone who is ‘to an eminent degree, endowed with the requisite qualifications,’” “The West Wing” star Martin Sheen said. He was joined by 17 other celebrities, including Bob Odenkirk, Debra Messing and Moby.

The video, paid for by the anti-Trump group Unite For America, is the latest in a long-shot effort to urge Republican electors in states where Trump won the popular vote to break from the presumed president-elect and choose anyone else. Electoral College members will meet in their respective state capitals on Dec. 19 to formally elect the next president.

Let Trump in there, and let the GOP self-destruct. And they will because they will OWN this.

That is why the Democratic Party is not saying much. They are not rolling over.

It is pretty obvious what is going on.

The LAST thing I want in there is somebody who is illegitimate like a Kasich or a Romney or a Ryan.

People would be FURIOUS at this bullshit, that their votes were for nothing. It would negate some 130 million votes.

Fuck the whole "Hamilton Electors" scheme. They are just chickenshits who refuse to vote for the popular vote winner.

The average American doesn't much like Hollywood stars, who make more in one movie or one episode then most people will make in a year, preaching to them as if they were stupid. If anything the average Republican elector is MORE likely to cast his vote for Trump then before.

If these assholes are not going to put in Clinton, then let them vote Trump.

A third person is totally illegitimate and invalidates the entire election.

NOT acceptable.

The notion of the "Hamilton Electors" is one of the worst ideas ever to come down the pike. It was started by a pair of anti-Clinton assholes.

There's like four I recognize, and half of them haven't appeared in anything of any significance in ages.

I have little doubt that the man-child Drumpf will be sworn in on January 20. Nor do I doubt that this will release a tsumani of long-oppressed desire by Rethugs to roll-back the New Deal/Great Society (repeal, not just the ACA, but social security, medicare, medicaid, and much, much more). O, the 0.01% will do very well, but the rest of us will be reduced to serfs in the neo-feudalism that's about to emerge. Very few informed people will want what's about to happen. And, now that it's too late, the crushed uninformed will be left to thrash around attacking scapegoats identified by the our new fuhrer.

I'm going to have to buy myself a lot of vodka very soon!
