I just realized that I'm glad Obama is leaving.

The Huffington Post published a photo of our beloved President enjoying the ocean in Hawaii and it made me smile. Yes, his complete opposite is probably going to take over and get us all killed, but Obama needs a rest. He was POTUS for eight long years, fighting long and hard for every progressive action he put into place. The job must have shorten his life. God knows he needs to relax now and spend time with his wonderful family. I also hope he makes a bazillion dollars for every speech he gives as a private citizen. I'm happy for him. (But, of course, terrified for the rest of us.)

He busted his hump and did the best he could. He was always so dignified and gracious. Best President in my lifetime. I enjoyed campaigning for him in both elections. I wish him and Michelle, Malia and Sasha much love, happiness and peace.

I hate seeing what the stress did to him. Love him and have great trust in him--one of the top-notch people on the planet.

I will be crying too, come January.....

But now I see that didn't work out so well and part of the reason Trump was even close in 2016 is because so many see the democrats as weak. He could redeem himself in my eyes by putting Garland in as supreme court justice on the break but he wont. Obama is probably just going to make a speech maybe say "darn" but not do much else as we slide off to our sunset.

Stay classy Obama

They only had eyes for the black guy, and couldn't wait to get him out of there. The racism and xenophobia in this country was eye opening for me. I knew it was there but not to this extent.

Had nothing to do with Dem weakness, or especially Obama's, who racked up wins despite all the rethugs who voted against him time and again. I don't think that shows weakness.

It had a lot to do with dt stirring up the masses with hate and anger, and faux berating and belittling the Clintons for decades. People know they didn't like Hillary but could never explain why. At least that is what I found in the people I ran across in FL.

Yes it has been all about racisnj and yet Obama did so much. However that calm behavior PLUS 1000 other things has brought us to voting in a tough guy like Trump but I am going to stay positive!

I live in rural area on other coast and the people here are cool but seemed to feel the democrats were too giving of the welfare in their eyes plus the ACA premiums.

All I have heard bad about Hillary here is she lies, oh and a family member thinks she had some witness killed back in the 70s.

I'm pretty sure he's very busy behind the scenes doing everything he can. I don't know what how where or when, but his character is not one to back off at a time of emergency like this.

thanks for sharing. I feel the same for Hillary, seeing her relaxed and finally resting makes me feel a little happier. Knowing that repubs would make her life hell while in office.

Instead we the people will endure..., but we deserved it.

The GOP and Russians cheated and elected one of the most incompetent leader ever to hold the office. But Trump is what we got after the dust settled. Whatever happens is the fault of the Trumpets. Trump does not deserve or shall receive our support. Sorry.....
I cannot support evil.

He is too engaged to be able to let it go. And THAT is what made him a great President.

I predict that he is going to be like all the other Democratic Presidents - only probably more so. He will become more relevant after having left office than what he was while in office.

I will miss be able to sleep at night knowing my country is safe...
