Now this is just so stupid you have to wonder why the hell they would be wasting money on crap like this but they are.
There are so many things wrong with this but let's just look at the basics:
1) The Dow Jones Industrial was founded in 1890 and took 119 years to get to 6626 on March 2nd, 2009 roughly 6 weeks after the President was sworn in. In just three years the DJI has increased another 6586 points to close at 13252 on March 12th. The facts are that this is the greatest three year increase in capital in the history of the world, so why would the President be aligned with communists by any thinking person?
2) The phone is tied to the CCCP which ceased to exist in 1991.
3) Why Nikita Krushchev? Just seems strange to pick out THAT particular dead communist. Why wouldn't you pick out Marx, Engels, or Lenin. Nikita? Really?
4) The shoes show double possessive apostrophe's "Nikita's Krushchev's" which is like a Junior High level grammatical mistake.
Lame, uninformed, illiterate, and without anything actually funny.
Does the Romney campaign disavow this shit?
It is clearly tied to the Romney campaign and all donations to the site go to the campaign.

(20,166 posts)The art work's not bad (in this or the other cartoons), but that doesn't make up for the deep stupidity.

(5,214 posts)I find the image of President Obama HIGHLY offensive and racial.
His lips and hair suggest a lot more 'African' heritage than what his true images convey. This in itself is not what upsets me. He could have the image of any African from that continent. But the fact remains this is not what he looks like and this portrayal is meant to reinforce the stereotypical image a Conservative has of him; angry black man, well anyone BUT Cain or West.
Secondly, there are several attempts at suggesting he is gay; the tightly wound crossing of his knees, the 'limp wrist' and his pinkish tie.
Also, what is the deal with the oddly colored and shaped flag/curtains? Either they are the flag, in which case they would have the correct colors and the 'stars and bars,' or they are just curtains and would not have the appearance of the flag.
I understand this is just a cartoon and is subject to artistic interpretation but the double entendres are too much for me.

(53,061 posts)Here is the kicker.
The artist is fully employed by the Mormon Church and is working on a "grass roots" website that is just one nano breath away from the Romney campaign.
If you do a google search for Mittfitts you are immediately connected with the entire universe of Mitt Romney unofficial official campaign. All the money raised here goes to the Romney campaign.
This reflects the true thinking of the Romney people.
I just wish someone in the media would ask him about it.

(10,960 posts)Showing what a thug he was... or something. It was from the same vintage as when he pounded the table at the UN.
The 1950s was big on shoe-sole politics. There was a famous photo of Adlai Stevenson showing the sole of his shoe worn through. That was actually a help, populist-wise.
As for the content of the cartoon (if any)... it's so bizarre that it's obviously a joke, but isn't.
Par for that course, unfortunately.
