Why The Hell Would Ashley Judd Want to Run?

First of all, she lives in TN so she'd have to move back to KY. Since I'm from TN and have close relatives in KY I don't see much difference in the two states as far as politics are concerned.

The most important question is "Why the hell would you open yourself up to the current political process when you can continue to be an actor and offer opinions that will get covered by the media?"

Ms. Judd must have reasoned, properly, that she can stay out of direct politics and still have a great influence on the political discussion. In fact, if she has roles in high-profile endeavors that raise her stature she will have a far broader audience than she could command as a senator from KY.

I think she's made a wise decision from a strategic point of view.

She would be better supporting a candidate who has the political thing wired.

I have some good friends in local politics, I don't know how they do it, it is a constant job. If asked, you have to show up for a function. They are constantly cornered by constituents mostly in a nice way, but it happens everywhere. You really have to be a political animal to be in that game.

generally speaking, one has to be in it to win it.

But 2016 with Hillary's coattails would be an easier run for Ashley against Rand.
But in the real world, a state that elected the worst conservative extremist (Rand), would never elect someone like Ashley would they?

Quite honestly, I never saw anything to indicate Ashley actually was going to run, though she played the angle nicely (she reaped the applause), but dang, actually being in the system is alot harder than railing against the system (like Ralph Nader found in his lucrative lifestyle with his constant appearances whining against everything)

I don't want to be cynnical, but I will be keeping my eyes peeled on IMDB to see what new roles she will take in her movie career now that her Q's are probably alot higher than they were a few months ago.

Makes me admire Al Franken more. He chucked his career and is working hard 24/7/365.
Acting is a helleva lot easier and pays a helleva lot more. Go Al!
