The Coming Attempt to Impeach Obama
by Michael Tomasky May 12, 2013 4:45 AM EDT
The idea of impeaching Obama is industrial-strength insane. Republicans will probably try anyway, predicts Michael Tomasky.

When the histories of this administration are written, I hope fervently that last Friday, May 10, does not figure prominently in them. But I fear that it might: the double-barrel revelations that the White House hasn’t quite been telling the whole story on Benghazi and that some mid-level IRS people targeted some Tea Party groups for scrutiny are guaranteed to ramp up the crazy. But to what extent? I fear it could be considerable, and the people in the White House damn well better fear the same, or we’re going to be contemplating an extremely ugly situation come 2015, especially if the Republicans have held the House and captured the Senate in the by-elections.

1. If they attempt impeachment, they will lose seats in 2014. Possibly big time.

The backlash will be incredible. Just like last time.

enough of their b.s. - even the dumbest ones - it will spell the end of
the Extreme Rightists.

better president. She got into politics only late in life. She is now 62. She
has been a university professor most of her adult life, and is not a "professional
politician." She will carry into the presidency her honesty, integrity, intelligence,
and freedom from all the negative taints that many life-long politicians have.
She will work hard for all of us, the American people.

We need someone like that -- for a change.

in the working class and middle class get behind her. She is on a great start with the middle and working class purposing lower loans for college kids with banks. That will get her many on her side. I don't know if we can get republican middle class with her.

still have 3-1/2 years before Nov. 2016. With her initiative and hard work
at pointing out to the American people the wrong things in our country
that badly need change, and how to make that change, she ought to be
able to win many people over. I sure wish her luck! I think we need her.

We need a "non-professional politician" to do the job.

First of all.. Clinton was Impeached. Did we have Gore? Does anyone think 2/3 of the Senate would vote for removal?
