I guess we're just not allowed to have the President we want.

Time to hunker down for the next 3 years of useless, wasteful Congressional hearings on Benghazi, IRS, AP.

Great use of needed resources.

While the rest of the country burns...

Bye bye MSNBC, hello music and maybe NPR.

Infuriating.

Where is the outrage about 1 in 5 American children living in poverty?

More Americans on food stamps than ever?

Student loan debt.

This is so great. Now we get to spend the next 4 years swooning over how victimized the tea party is instead of putting energy into those things that are needed.

Is it because of my advanced age that I see this so clearly, the adolescence of our political leadership, or have they simply backslid so terribly?

though hearings are guaranteed at this point, it may all turn out to be a bunch of nothingburgers as well, not to mention that they could reveal some information that is inconvenient for the Republicans as well. They may end up regretting hyping it all IMHO. I don't honestly think that President Obama is running a corrupt administration but in any large organization there are going to be people engaging in misbehavior, making questionable judgements, etc.. What a good leader does, of course, is make sure to condemn official misbehavior/mismanagement and ensure that things are investigated and that the issues/concerns are addressed appropriately.

see if there was going to be anyone with something positive. It's not all bad.. course I haven't watched corporate media since 2002.

And perhaps he has wasted his time trying to negotiate with this congress full of lunatics.

That being said, I hope that nobody here uses that disappointment as an excuse to stay put in 2014, because I have zero respect for individuals who hide behind cynicism in order to not take action. Let's make as good an attempt as possible to flush out this obstructive congress and replace it with one that will allow (or dare I say "force" given that Obama is a moderate) President Obama to negotiate more liberal policies, while we work to elect a successor that will hopefully unify the Democratic party and go about dealing with congress in a more effective manner.

Perhaps he is a lame duck who won't be able to get anything done. But ultimately, it is our fault (Democrats in general) for not getting more involved in 2010. Let's not allow the same to happen in 2014.

November 2, 2010 is a date that will live in infamy and the sad thing is, Democratic voters are ultimately to blame for sitting on their asses and not going out to vote in the midterm election.

Had the Democrats kept control of the House of Reps., these useless hearings wouldn't be going on right now (punctuated with breaks to hold another vote to repeal Obamacare).

Trying to reason with Teapublicans is pointless. The only thing you can do is to BEAT them at every election with a massive voter turnout.

What is the national party doing to make sure that the GOTV apparatus we built for the 2012 election will be in place and as active in the 2014 midterms?

Because the Democratic House leadership wouldn't be holding these stupid hearings even if blue dog caucus provided the difference in getting the Democrats over 218 seats.

Not all blue dogs were bad. There were some who laid down their careers and voted for health care reform. Former Rep. Allen Boyd (D-FL) comes to mind.

...that Mary Landrieu isn't a thousand times better than David Vitter or Bobby Jindal? Or that Max Baucus isn't a million times better than Robert Wagner?

Considering how far to the right Louisiana and Montana are with their highly-uneducated, rural-hick populations, we have been incredibly lucky to have senators like Landrieu and Baucus from those states.

They weren't the "ideal" choices, but they sure as hell are better than the right wing swine put forth by the GOP. If I was in a position of leadership, I'd gladly keep Landrieu and Baucus as placeholders until I was sure a liberal could win in those traditionally red states.

was asking about who should go to jail. Frankly, every single Congressman from his party should be in jail. They have done zilch to create jobs (even though that's what they campaigned on in 2010), and all they've been doing is wasting everybody's hard-earned taxpayer dollars on pursuing a repeal of Obamacare that will NEVER HAPPEN. They waste time. They waste money. So what business do any of them still have in D.C.?
