We need to be on the offensive.

The IRS caught the tea party getting a free ride on the tax payer's expense. Granted, they way they caught them was described as unethical, but the tea party has been advocating for tax evasion and violence towards democrats, union members, and liberals. They deserved to be investigated.

We need to press Democratic officials to get on the offensive and expose the tea party's hypocrisy. Liberal groups put up with IRS investigations. We need to tell the tea party to quit whining and show us who their donors are.

I'm contacting the republicans in my state and in DC, chewing them out for their party's hypocrisy. I encourage you to do the same.

Let's not let the republican smearing get to us. GOTV. Stop the republicans. Don't fall for their sideshows while they make our lives worse.

Yes, the IRS 'targeted' a bunch of groups that popped up overnight that were filing under the same 501(c)4 exemption. If I worked for the IRS, I would have been curious and done some investigating myself. Not because of their Conservative views, but because so many of them were applying within a fairly short time span under the same terms of 'Conservative' and 'tea party'. It would raise my suspicions if those groups had been labeled 'puppies' and 'chocolate chip cookies'.

The 501(c)4, from what I read and understand, is a fairly black and white exemption with enough room for abuse. Tax shelters, evasion, and legalized money laundering under the guise of Citizens United is a convenient fit for the 501(c)4. Just speaking the name should raise red flags.

They're grasping (gasping?) at straws. I don't see anything unethical about someone doing their job. Maybe I'm missing something, but I still just don't friggin' see it. I do have to say that I'm a bit disappointed that Pres. Obama was so quick to admonish the IRS. We're in desperate need of some brave IRS agents that aren't afraid to go after the real cheats and this is just taking the wind out of their sails. What agent is going to want to investigate the likes of a Koch if he/she thinks they'll be called out by the President?

And, yes, Liberal/Democratic groups have faced the same scrutiny in the past. Why didn't we shake our fists and stomp our feet and cry about our 'freedom'? Oh...yeah...because we know how things work.

I live in the reddest part of Arizona. We have one 'Democrat'. At least, that's what it says on her web site. I'm still giving it a shot and contacting my idiot Republicans, as well. If they can come up with a logical reason why the IRS shouldn't be allowed to do their job, I'll shut up. The keyword is 'logical'.
