John McCain To Mike Lee: Learn How Congress Works

SAHIL KAPUR 12:42 PM EDT, THURSDAY MAY 23, 2013

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) tore into Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) on the floor Thursday over his objection to beginning House-Senate conference negotiations on the budget until a debt limit increase is taken off the table.

"Perhaps the senator from Utah doesn't know about that -- the fact that even if they did raise the debt limit, it could not become law because it doesn't go to the president of the United States," McCain said. "So again, maybe the senator from Utah ought to learn a little bit more about how business has been done in the Congress of the United States."

"Budget resolutions are not signed by the president of the United States," he said.

1. Are the fractures between the TP and non-TP GOP finally starting to reach critical mass?

Between Cruz basically telling Congress to F off and McCain's outburst I wonder if the grand implosion is going to occur as we get closer to November.

... the senators with much more seniority get fed up with the senators with lesser seniority and teabaggers quite often.

7. It's about time the wiser heads rise to the occasional, far too long Congress is in name only.

They have been elected to serve and I expect them to start serving. Of course Crazy Cruz is one of my senators and I write his office regularly, might not do any good but I try. If a few more like McCain would stand up to the TP bunch it would be conquered and on their way back to where they come from. It is a radical bunch, just like the groups like Taliban and Muslim Brotherhood are, they have differences on some issues but way too far right. Thanks John Mc Cain.

They just got elected recently and they try to run roughshod over their seniors. Cruz being the prime example. If he keeps it up there'll be a Murder in the Orient Express scenario with Cruz as the victim. He's as popular as the plague.
