We do really need to get rid of Republicans from Congress in 2014
We need to be rid of them. We need to take back the House. Everything that they propose is not for the benefit of the American people.
It needs to be the #1 priority for all Democrats. Name me one good thing Republicans have done since they took control of the House?

1. Governors' mansions and state legislatures too
That's where all the bullshit starts; GOP state governments are doing far more harm than Congress IMO. Start with Gov. One-Term Tommy of PA.

5. 18! 18! 18! 18! Throw out our two senators from Illinois with them!
Those two fucking Monsanto whores. And all the rest who voted against GMO labeling. This is our chance to get the RW'ers to get rid of their no-good, do-nothing taxpayer parasites!

7. I'm with ya, but
easier said than done. Barack Obama will not be at the top of another ballot, ever again, and without someone who can bring out his base, we might well be screwn, just like 2010.

9. In office
and on top of the ballot are two different things. 2010 told us that. Yes, it is up to us, but not enough of us are apparently going to emerge next year, if history is a guide. We really need a serious major issue to come up to just hold even in a year and a half. Hopefully, it arrives.

11. Democrats need to lead on the issues
we have plenty of good issues we can fight this election on.
We need some mouthpieces at the front of the Democratic Party saying is what we are going to do and thrash the Republicans for their failures. We never seem to have anyone at the front. |

10. Yes, we do!
That will be my #1 priority! What have they done? Nothing but obstruct Obama at every opportunity. For the good of the country, they need to go.

12. One good thing the Republicans have done since taking control of the House...
They constantly expose themselves every time they open their mouths. That's a good thing

18. We need those types of Dems in states where we know they can win...
For example, I'd like to see a lot of the east coast filled with the "real Dems" that you speak of, because I believe that those states are blue enough for a great number of progressive candidates to win seats. As for some of the more contentious states (Texas, North Carolina, what have you), well I'd much rather take my chances and have 3rdwayers occupy those seats instead of handing them over to the GOP, at least until those states move leftward as well.

15. This is the most important post on DU!
This is by far the most important issue facing liberals and progressives. If we can regain a majority in Congress, we'll be able to start making progress on many different issues.
Thanks for posting! |

16. THe present House is a real obstacle to progress
Republicans are hell bent on fleecing the have nots - such as getting rid of Medicare, cutting social security, furloughs, taxes for us but not the rich, using our money for war and greed.
This has to stop. |

17. you're right. Republicans in control of house never do anything good.
Remember way back when Obama was first elected and for several months Dems still had majority?
At that same early time the President also moved through his major healthcare changes. The RW (still in shock at the Obama as president), kept calling for the president to "slow down", wait several months for the healthcare changes. Sure happy the President didn't wait because once republicans took over that was the last time Americans had anything positive happen from the House. I sure hope people vote, it's a shame only about 50% of Americans vote. |
