2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAnn Romney ‘Very, Very Partial’ To Paul Ryan For 2016
Asked to weigh in on the next presidential election, Ann Romney said Thursday that she's partial toward the man who served as the running mate to her husband, 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
"There are some great candidates out there and, you know, I think Mitt and I are always very, very partial to Paul Ryan but, you know, we don't even know if he's going to run," she said during an appearance on CBS. "But there are some good candidates."
She also rejected the notion that there was any residual bitterness between the Romneys and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), who took heat from Republicans for his embrace of President Barack Obama following Hurricane Sandy.
"Things are made into bigger things than people think," Romney said. "There are some great guys out there. Chris is a great guy. We love him. It's all good. We have no bitterness towards anyone."

(16,993 posts)You proved who you really are during the campaign. You are a small-minded, self-centered, inconsiderate gnat of a person, superior to others and privileged above everyone else in your own mind.
You married a man who kills jobs and tears apart families and companies for a living. He's a blood sucker. Both you and Mitt are welfare whores, evading paying taxes, off shoring investments, and taking advantage of every loophole. You are taking advantage of the American people by paying less in taxes than the average American, even though you earn much more. This is a government hand out, and the little people are actually supporting your tired, saggy ass.
You have maids to do your work for you. You probably couldn't clean a dirty floor properly if you had to. You've never had to scrimp and save and worry how you were going to get by. You are out of touch, you live in a bubble.
People who aren't wealthy are offensive to you. You probably get sick to your stomach knowing that you shop at the same grocery store as the soiled.
America showed you clearly what they thought of you, your husband, and his running mate. Go away and shut the hell up. Aren't there neighbors in La Jolla you can disturb tearing down your house, and building a McMansion that will block everyone else's view?
I think the rebubs should listen to annie.... she sure chose a winner in mittens!

(806 posts)everyone (including myself) was flat out astonished and disbelieving at our good luck - of all the names being bandied about (Christie, Rubio, Portman), Ryan was easily the weakest possible choice - he had no chance at flipping his own state and had no appeal outside of people who hated Barack Obama and were in Romney's column any way - I was certain he was going to take Portman (without OH, I didn't see where Romney really had any plausible path to victory).
