June 25, 2013
This is the date to circle on your calendar now. Go ahead and block off the weekend before that too (June 22 and June 23). Our victory in the Special Election will be dependent on our ability to mobilize every single volunteer we have and get them on the doors to knock and drag out every single identified supporter.
Scott Brown won in the 2010 Special Election by 109,425 votes. On that Election Day in January 2010, 110,000 of our Super Democrats (our VERY best voters) forgot to come out and vote. On June 25, 2013, we will replicate our GOTV efforts from November 2010 and November 2012 to hit the door of every supporter and make sure they are there at the polls to cast their vote in support of Ed Markey.

(27,315 posts)avoided talking about this election. Poor babies. Democracy bore them.
This said, I wished we stop talking about Mr Centerfold. He is just an accidental senator. No need to promote him any further. Same for Sarah Palin. Democrats should talk of her as an entertainer.
The good news: according to the polls, this is not a close race (polls between +7 and +20, with the exception of internal Gomez polls, and even them show Markey pulling ahead). This is a picture that is way different from 2010.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
