2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumRomney: "I didn't say that" is a thing of great beauty.
Huffington Post has a pretty funny report of Romney denying what we all saw him say:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/29/mitt-romney-47_n_3670600.html
Here is the beauty of Romney's response:
1) It shows that he is still bothered by the result
2) He knows that when that recording got out he had zero chance of winning
3) Deep in his little tiny heart he knows that he "screwed the pooch" all by his little self.
So if you are having a bad day just remember
1, 2 and 3 above.

(16,993 posts)He thinks he's so rich and powerful, he should always get what he wants.
"You people" think otherwise. Take a hike, Miffy. And please, feel free to take ALL of your stuck up, spoiled, snobby, nasty family members with you. It's nice in Georgia this time of year, just listen for the banjo music and head toward it.
What do you have against Georgia? Lots of DUers from here.

(12,618 posts)got out, Romney knew he had no chance of winning. He was pretty much absolutely convinced he was going to win right up until election night. Boy, what a jolt of reality that must have been for the bubble boy.

(53,061 posts)now shows that he now realizes that once that video got out that he was toast, and that it still bugs the hell out of him.

(14,459 posts)He was the last one in on the joke- he was a Bob Dole.
I disagree also that the video sunk him- he didn't have a chance in the first place. The video was a great view into the 1% thinking though- they really DO believe they're the workers and we're the slackers. Funny as hell.

(17,656 posts)I hope it bothers him for the rest of his worthless life!
They spent over a billion dollars to try and buy the White House, and they came up short!!!
Rove's group spent over $400 million dollars alone!
And what did they get for it??
Bupkus!
Serves them right for thinking that the American people could be bought off like that.

(15,189 posts)You didn't build your own business, but this asshole ran with it like it was fact. Still lying. My guess is he's going to run AGAIN in 2016. He'll have a fight on his hands with sister Sarah who won't be afraid to call him out for being a Mormon.

(11,175 posts)Neither Romney nor Palin will run for President in 2016.
Romney will stay out because he knows he would have no chance of even winning the nomination.
Palin will stay out because, although she'd be a contender for the nomination, she knows she would have little to no chance in the general election. Also, there's little upside to her. If she loses, her luster is dimmed, and with it her ability to grift money off the Tea Partiers. If she wins, she's stuck doing an arduous job where wonks waving briefing books are always running after her demanding that she learn something about Uzbekistan or whatever.

who went BALLISTIC over Obama's quips about the military.
I have never laughed so hard. This relative was practically apoplectic
when I told him he had to admit it was funny.

(56,828 posts)I'm still incredulous over him saying how he made it on his own through hard work.
Really? Come on dude - the only people that had more help getting ahead in life were named Bush and Kennedy, and at least JFK didn't dodge the draft in WW2.

(83,746 posts)On April 12, 2006, former Governor Mitt Romney (R) signed into law comprehensive health reform legislation designed to provide near-universal health coverage for state residents.1 The Massachusetts health reform law became the model for national health reform.

(145,152 posts)Romney has a problem telling the truth. Steve Benen and others documents Romney's lies over the campaign and it was an impressive list. Romney simply can not tell the truth which is why the latest statement is both typical and amusing.
