Richard Nixon (tapes) on judicial nominations

http://legaltimes.typepad.com/blt/2013/08/on-tape-richard-nixon-talks-judicial-nominations.html#comments

"Nixon discusses future judicial nominations during a July 12, 1973 conversation with chief of staff Al Haig, according to the five reporters who reviewed the tapes. Nixon insisted on finding "meanest right-wing" nominees and says, "No Jews. Is that clear? We've got enough Jews. Now if you find some Jew that I think is great, put him on there."

Actually finding the meanest right wing nominees is something Repub presidents after Nixon have been good at...See: Robert Bork, Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas...On the Circuit Court level see Janice Rogers Brown, Edith Jones, Priscilla Owen, etc...

But surely the Republican Party has no white racists among their members. After all, they're the party of Lincoln!
