http://www.politicususa.com/2013/10/18/senate-constitutional-power-expel-ted-cruz.htmlI would sell water ice in Alaska to hear those words emanate from my t.v. Did I mention I hate cold? If they allow Cruz to stay without a muzzle, nothing but nonsense for the next five years.

(23,181 posts)Sort of the inverse of Republicans trying to get their way by holding government hostage. It would be seen by many as a Democratic over reach if we tried to boot Cruz out of Government if there wasn't an actual crime not protected by free speech that he was guilty of. Just because the Republican House had the votes toi impeach Bill Clinton it was an abuse of power to do so when they did. Cruz needs to be dealt with by confining him to a shrinking political minority.

(27,315 posts)We can only hope that they have more common sense. The problem is not Cruz. The problem is the leadership who has no courage (Kennedy and Kerry staged a filibuster against Alito. Reid knew better than let them go on. And we have plenty of other examples like that).
The person who wrote this may be correct (or not, frankly anonymous people posting crowd pleasers are not exactly my cup of tea), but it would be bad for democracy. Cruz has been a pain in the ass, but he has done nothing that comes even close to warrant an expulsion, except if stupidity and self-promotion is a crime, in which case you need to expulse most of the US Senate)
