Lest America forget: Romney was the 2008 candidate of Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity, Ingraham....
The corporate media have done nothing to expose the central lie of the 2012 Republican propaganda machine.
That central lie is the assertion the Romney is a "moderate", and the purpose of that lie, of course, is to falsely portray the 2008 candidate of the right wing radio demagogues as something other than what he is.
And what Romney is, of course, is the salesman for the most extreme right wing policies ever advocated by any previous nominee of the GOP.
But the corporate media has done nothing to expose the Fox "News"/GOP narrative of the 2012 primary season (the fabrication that Romney is a "moderate", whose nomination represents a "defeat" for the extreme factions of the far right, and a "victory" for the swing voters who have left the Republican fold in recent elections).
Lest America forget, Romney WAS the 2008 favorite of the far right.
The clown car 2012 primary season may have seemed to have no strategic purpose in appealing to the "swing voter", it has produced the result desired by Frank Luntz and his fellow GOP snake oil peddlers: It has produced a GOP 2012 candidate who is simultaneously:
- - - - - the most extreme right wing candidate the GOP has ever nominated
- - - - - the candidate falsely portrayed (not only by the GOP/Fox spin machine, but by the entire corporate media establishment) as a "moderate" who has prevailed over the various "conservatives"
It is time the corporate media had their feet put to the fire and forced to report on the reality that the GOP is now peddling the 2008 candidate of the extreme right wing as a "moderate".
