Is Texas not welcoming a president?

Asked Chris Matthews, while reporting that Cruz basically was telling Obama to get the hell out of "his" kingdom.

No, Texas does not welcome Democratic Presidents, certainly not in Nov. 1963

After all, we've seen the Confederate Flag just recently in front of the White House by a mob trying to get in.

(Yes, I know, there are many good Texans who abhor the behavior of Cruz and Perry and Delay and the rest of them. Unfortunately, this is still the face that Texan presents to the rest of the country).

Lyndon Johnson, Lloyd Bentsen, Ann Richards, John Connally (before switching parties) and, of course, the great Barbara Jordan.

What happened?
