The President will be re-elected. While not taking it for granted, here's what we must do

President Obama WILL be re-elected, if we do what we should this fall and get out the vote. That's looking clearer every day.

NOW: We must get him a Democratic majority in the House, and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate so we can get this country back on track. The hell with Republican obstructionism.

We need to make the GOP an irrelevant minority!

And how lucky for us that the Republicans are already busy making themselves irrelevant by concentrating on the War on Women!

...we get more Blue Dogs who can thwart a progressive agenda.

In other words, we need a PROGRESSIVE majority.

Imagine how much better shape we might be in had we gotten out the vote in 2010. Can't let that happen again.

He has the power and the right to do so. If he does not it's malpractice........ The people need to pressure him because nothing gets done even with 59 dem votes on anything in the senate. If the filibuster rule is not changed and nothing gets done, guess who gets blamed? The people know that with a GOP majority, the filibuster is gone....poof..... Gone in an instant, and the GOP would ram home whetever they want. This is not your daddy's senate This is the 21st century and the 21st century requires abolition of the filibuster, which basically is unamerican at this point.

Can the filibuster rule be changed by simple majority, or could the Thugs filibuster that, too? My recollection is simple majority.

We'll be lucky to have 51. But that's the point. The dems could change the rule unilaterally on day one to shelve the filibuster upon reaching 51 votes. Boom! But they won't.............. unless there is large grass roots pressure demanding this change.
