Happy Birthday to our newest "senior citizen!!"

Howard Dean is 65 today.

I wish he had been inaugurated as my president in 2005. He was a friend before that. He remains my friend now.

Happy birthday, and happy trails, Howard!

He and his brother, Jim, were hugely involved in the ground campaign to defeat Koochicrazy for governor of Virginia, and their "Purple to Blue" initiative is now looking at Texas and Wendy Davis. Howard may not be front page headline fare any longer, but he doesn't care, and he hasn't given up the fight at all.

You can follow or even join in if it's something local, or have the time for it if it's elsewhere. They didn't win Virginia on their own, of course, but their ground efforts didn't hurt. Howard wasn't thrilled with McAuliffe as our candidate for governor, but the thought of Koochicrazy made him ill, and DFA spent a lot of effort to help make sure that didn't happen.
