2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumObama's numbers go up during the week and down during the weekend in polling, why?
Rasmussen and Gallop polling do daily polls, and if you look at them the president goes up during the week and down on the weekend. This makes the polling seem flawed. Now I know that Rasmussen and to a smaller extent Gallop might be considered biased, yet the polls do follow this pattern. Can someone give a reason for this?

(33,497 posts)more likely is that on weekends democrats go out and do things--rather than sit at home. I think it is harder on the weekend to get hold of democrats than republicans, imo.

(33,497 posts)I would imagine more dems work more than one job and probably many have weekend jobs, which also makes it harder to get hold of them.

I'm sure people can't answer the phone for polls while their out shopping or taking their kids to birthday parties.

On the week end, the liberals go have some fun, the old right wingers stay home ... and Obama's numbers drop slightly.
