GOP Rep.: Democrats Are Moving Further Left On Health Care

CAITLIN MACNEAL – DECEMBER 1, 2013, 10:31 AM EST

Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK) on Sunday said that Democrats are moving further to the left, rather than to the right, as they see problems with Obamacare surface during the law's rollout.

"They are moving further to the left," he said on ABC's "This Week," noting that Democrats are arguing for a single-payer health care system.

Cole called this is a "big mistake. Medicare is going bankrupt as it is," he said. Cole remained skeptical of Obamacare's success despite the administration's announcement Sunday that it had reached its goal to have the website working for most users.

"There's going to be some winners, there's no questions about that," he said, but added that there will also be losers. "This thing is going to be an unmitigated disaster for the President."

And getting our Living-Wage-Jobs back in THIS country, so people can better afford preventive health care. Or is logic beyond your comprehension there Tom.

and they are a.o.k. with letting it die too. He also conveniently forgets that whiz kid Ryan wants to turn Medicare into what ACA essentially is, but for older people.

I can remember way back in elementary school when we were learning about the European style health care systems that were in place or that were around the corner and asking the question of our teacher "Why don't we have government health care for everyone here?" To which the teacher said that many in this country would never approve of that because they consider something like that to be Communist in nature. I went on to question her more and argue that anyone who thought that was Communist must be stupid or something. I'm a 60 year old woman who has been wanting socialized health care since I was in elementary school so I guess I've always been further left than many (especially conservatives but also some liberals) are even today when it comes to health care.

After all, I think I could think of a far better "leftie" solution to the HC crisis than something from the Heritage Foundation.

I certainly wish they would move to the left.
