Related: About this forumHistory will NOT judge the GOP well regarding FEMALE African-Americans in the U.S. House
Democrat Shirley Chisholm was the first African-American woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, she was sworn in January 3, 1969.
The total number of African-American women in the history of the United States that have taken the oath of office in the U.S. House is: 32
Democrats: 32
Republicans: 0
A list of 'all' FEMALE House reps here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_the_United_States_House_of_Representatives#List_of_female_members
p.s. In this day and age that's pretty hard to believe!
Yes, the GOP does have a problem.

What's their problem? They will pick up house seats and probably take the Senate

from Utah. And I don't think we've heard the last of her.

On May 18, 2013, Love announced that she would run again in 2014 against Matheson. If elected, she would be the first Haitian American and first black female Republican ever elected to Congress, and the first person of color elected from Utah.

And I wonder if she were to win if the Congressional Black Caucus would even let her join after what she has said about it.
It says on Wiki: "... She has said that if elected to Congress, she would join the Congressional Black Caucus and try to take that thing apart from the inside out and has described the Democrat-dominated Caucus as characterized by ...demagoguery. They sit there and ignite emotions and ignite racism when there isnt. They use their positions to instill fear. Hope and change is turned into fear and blame. Fear that everybody is going to lose everything and blaming Congress for everything instead of taking responsibility."
And: "Love is pro-life and has been endorsed by the Susan B. Anthony List.[31] She supports domestic energy exploration, local control of education, Second Amendment rights, and state control of public lands... "
Sounds like another republican nutjob.

next year. And even if they don't 90% of their far right agenda will be enacted. I wish we had a "problem" like that.
