Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder as Mitt Romney's Vice Presidential Candidate?

Is this the answer to Romney's low poll numbers in Michigan? Snyder is a weasel, and a sneaky little bastard. With a Repug majority in both the House and Senate in Michigan, he has pushed through legislation that is horrendous, and created virtual dictatorships in several Michigan cities. He's cut taxes for big business on the backs of Michigan schools, seniors, and it's middle and lower income families. He is no different than Walker, and in my opinion worse, but he's managed to stay under the national radar (except for Maddow, bless her heart).
Another recall attempt for this lying, cheating weasel kicks off on Saturday with a rally at the Capitol hosted by MichiganRising.org He is not well-liked by many in Michigan, but he has his supporters, and of course many of them are well-moneyed, with the rest ill-informed, or IMHO just plain stupid.
He would be a disaster as a VP, but perfect for Romney's campaign.
I shudder at the thought.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder as Mitt Romney's vice presidential candidate?

Gov. Rick Snyder stands out as a potential vice presidential candidate for likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney, according to a Florida Republican political consultant.

Chris Ingram, in his weekly column for the Tampa Tribune, analyzed state delegations’ hotel assignments for the Republican National Convention, scheduled for August in Tampa.

National media has focused on Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as a potential vice presidential candidate.

But it’s interesting, Ingram pointed out, that Florida’s assigned hotel is about a two-hour bus ride from the convention, while Michigan, in his opinion, received the second-best hotel behind Massachusetts, where Romney served as governor.

Snyder’s press secretary Sara Wurfel responded with a statement:

“It's heartening to see recognition of the progress that Governor Snyder and Michigan have been able to accomplish and the significant turnaround that's underway -- from eliminating budget deficits and balancing budgets, dropping unemployment and resurging economy, increase in personal income and growing attraction to our state with relentless positive action. Michigan is THE comeback story. That said, Gov. Snyder is focused on Michigan and ensuring our progress continues."

MLive readers had mixed reactions, even among Snyder supporters.

EM's FOR EVERYONE! I'm still kinda shocked the Rachel is the only one really covering this nationally(At least that i've seen) this fascist law that allows people OR corporations to come in and take over your city. If this is allowed to stand here I can guarantee that you will see laws like this sweeping across the country.

It's not just the EM's, although from a national level that is perhaps the farthest from our core Democratic Values. Check out this website:

https://michiganrising.org/

Click on the "Impact" drop-down menu in the black bar, or the "80 Anti-Union Bills" at the top right. Snyder has former evil gov John Engler at his side, and the Mackinac Center (child of ALEC) backing him up as well.

Why the Democratic Party in Michigan does not support the recall effort like Wisconsin's did is beyond me.

Yeah, I collected signatures for the first recall attempt and the Democratic party publically said that they did not support the recall, and the unions really didn’t do anything either. And when I asked them how much more he would have to do to get at least the unions to get involved (esp. the MEA because both my parents were teachers) they said that they were "trying to work with him". But I guess that explains why Wisconsin had success and Michigan didn’t. Also few others and I paid Snyder a visit in Benton Harbor last year for the blossom time parade... hahaha that was a great time. I wrote about it here for my first post but it was on the old version. I was going to share it with someone else but I can’t open it now. Is there anyway to view old threads now?

Mittens needs a "game changer"...someone who will energize the "base" and not only carry their state but others as well. Snyder's numbers are upside down in Michigan and the Union "blowback" against rushpublicans are an unseen story that will have a big effect in Michigan as well as Ohio and Pennsylvania...states tied to the auto industry. Snyder won't turn around those states...Willard would do better with a Portman...but again he brings limited returns.

Willard's pickings are slim...and the longer he remains behind President Obama in the polls the more desperate I expect him to become. The rushpublican veepstakes could turn into yet another clown car demolition derby as Mittens searches for that "magic conservative" who will energize the base like Palin did in '08 but not upstage Mittens and alienate the "moderates" and "independents" he'll need if he stands any chance to get 270 electoral votes.

Snyder doesn't have the "magic"...

This is what will make the next couple months amusing. I don't think Willard really knows who he wants nor what will fit. His milqtoast personality makes it easy for someone to overpower him and his huge ego doesn't want that. I'd bet his choose his wife and he's been hiding under her skirt for the past two months.

What "hidden" gems out there in the GOTB "farm system" are few and each carries some kind of baggage. Select a wingnut and watch those attrocious women and Hispanic numbers get even bigger. Choose a "moderate" and watch the great unhinged go crazy (just like they are right now over Willard's gay neo-con foreign policy "expert&quot . The Palin ghost really hangs heavy as half of the party still loves her and thinks this was McGoo's greatest move while the "elite" still shiver whenever her name is mentioned.

One clear flaw Rmoney has is he can't make a tough decission. He'll parade around over the next couple months with any and every warm body that will have him and hope he gets some kind of bump in the polls. He'll be stuck at the convention with the combination of Paulbots and "conservatives" making a lot of noise and then make a choice from weakness.

wanted Daniels to join in because he was so disatisfied with the current slate of nominees.

It was a particularly painful slap to Romney coming from the guy that now holds the office his father had.
