1. This is the only way the Rs can win

They have no plan for their constituents. They only want to make the Ds look bad, and, hopefully, in the gerrymandered districts keep winning their seats. There will come a time when the saying "what goes around comes around" will take effect. The Rs are the party of cheats because that is the only way they can win. They are in a minority nationwide, but still win seats by stupid laws changing the amount of time people have to vote as well as having super pacs with wealthy cheaters at the helm. I am the only Dem in my family. I argue the fine points of the left leaning policies and never lose. The reason is that the Rs have no idea how to form a plan or policy that will work for them. The only one so far is to cheat to win the election. That is like welfare for the rich.

2. I still think that we all should vote on a Saturday

Have the voting for 24 hours on a Saturday and watch the number of voters go through the roof.

4. No problem

It would be so nice to be able to leisurely go to the polling place, see neighbors and friends standing in line and then vote without the worries of going to work that day. For those that do work, they still will have time to get off work and have all night to vote. It would work but will it ever happen?

5. States are moving to mail-in ballots.

Here in Arizona 90% of people vote by mail. Most people have no interest in going to the polls and seeing neighbors and friends in line. That is the way of the future.

6. I think you're right.

I also think that's sad. We are becoming less social and losing our ties to one another (while building online ties with others).

I'm guilty too.

7. We are all guilty.

I walk around the Arizona State University campus and see kids staring at their i-Phones talking to no one. But they are proud of the 348 "friends" they have on Facebook. Yeah, right...

8. Yep, I have been warning my children about this disconnect.

If you need emergency help, you cannot get it on Facebook, yet my children are all over Facebook, and texting, and have no time to talk to their widowed and elderly Mother. Also, if someone is breaking in your house, it helps to know your neighbors. I have to ask them all the time, to put up their phone and actually talk to me. The real problem is their disconnect to their country and what is going on because of it. Our electronics have become human sitters, that allow us to bury our heads in data.

I am all for progress, and I love to be in touch easily, but I know when to put it away. Kids will text walking down the street, driving, and I am wondering if they google how to have sex. Just sayin'. The next handy device will be a phone that turns into a vibrator, so you can have sex with your phone as you text, or not.
