Long time reader, don't post much because there is a pretty high purity test on this board. That being said, I think we underestimate Ted Cruz at our peril. The guy is well spoken and personally I feel he could give Hillary Clinton a problem in the debates.

7. You are overestimating Cruz.

His appeal is strictly to the fanatical base of the republican party. That won't win a national election. When he shut down the government for nothing, he lost any chance he might have had. Cruz is not a leader he's a rabble rouser.

Cruz would be the ideal republican candidate from a Democratic perspective.
