Here's a pledge for GOP to try to weasel out of

I heard Carville promising the most intense campaign season ever on CNN yesterday.

We should demand pledges that no candidate or campaign or PAC will knowingly lie, fabricate or stretch the truth. Failure to fact check is not a good enough excuse for "unknowingly lying".

Penalty for getting caught? Candidate must use the words "I lied about <issue>, the truth is <truth>". No explanations allowed.

They can also pledge to remove themselves from the race if they have to issue more than <choose their own small number> such retractions.
