Does Alison Grimes have a reasonable chance to beat the turtle?

How much of a chance? It all depends.

Kentucky is changing. The urban populations are growing and becoming more progressive. The old, white, red necks are ageing out. Alison has come out with some devastating ads - Mitch quoted as saying jobs 'are not my business'. While Mitch's best shot is 'she agrees with Obama and them Hollywood librls'. And "she's against 'our way of life'" - whatever that is.

Polls are showing them neck and neck. So, from what I can see here in Northern Ky, it depends on a) voter turnout and b) how well the Republicans can suppress the vote.

suppression is a crime, isn't it? And paperless electronic voting machines are still being

Do you see how Republican crimes are more or less accepted by Democrats as normal?
How did we let it come this far. Are we playing the role of enablers? They must be
laughing at us for our stupidity. We are letting them get away with every dirty and
criminal trick in the book.

3. I think it's going to be a close one - I certainly hope she wins

I ran into my very right-wing uncle and aunt a few weeks ago and they were considering voting for Grimes. They both clearly had no love for McConnell but the idea of voting for a dem was something they were struggling with. They were going on about how good her ads are and how she seems to have good sense. I, of course, agreed wholeheartedly and said that I thought that McConnell had been in office 30 years and hadn't done much for us so we should give somebody new a shot.

I know anecdotal data is not worth much to a lot of people, but that encounter gave me a lot of hope. I have many right-wing relatives and I am going to work on them all the way up until election day.

My only concern is her brashness. But this is politics, where apparently nothing is held back. What I like is she is one of the few Dems with big enough balls to speak her mind with conviction. She makes turtle boy look like the idiot he really is. And I think it's going to put her over the top. Just think, no more turtle wax... Ummmm Yep

Note to self: Jon Stewart does one of the best turtle impression, ever.. Almost as good as the original.

She has a good chance, even better now that McConnell's campaign manager appears to be tied into the bribery scandal in Iowa. It's going to be a bitter, vicious race to the very end.

I remember how the McConnell campaign went after Ford who ran against turtle last time. It waited till the last couple of weeks before the election, and then brought out the real ugly muck. Some racist crap. But this time will be much worse. Grimes has a real chance to win I believe, after some thought, and when the shit hits, it is going to be very ugly. I will not be surprised at anything, especially if Grimes is even or a little ahead.

A turtle loss would force him to stick his head back inside, and I sure would like to see that one..
