Sen Elizabeth Warren Calls for Amendment to Overturn Citizens United

The five conservatives on the Supreme Court today are the most pro corporation judges ever.

As the Senate debates a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United, Elizabeth Warren spoke about why she will vote for it.

"When 32 people can outspend 3.7 million citizens, our democracy is in real danger."

Senator Elizabeth Warren delivered a speech on the floor of the Senate on September 8, 2014 in support of a pending Constitutional amendment, introduced by Senator Tom Udall (D-NM), that would give Congress and individual states the authority to regulate campaign finance and rein in money pouring into our political process.

Tom Udall's amendment was cosponsored by 48 Democratic senators--nearly the entire caucus. Haven't you been getting emails from dozens of Dem senators for the past several months about it?

BTW: The amendment was just rejected in the Senate: blocked by a Republican filibuster. All 54 Democrats voted to advance it; because it's a Constitutional amendment, it needed 67.
