Why is everyone happy and laughing on MSNBC
I have it on mute and instead of glumness I see laughter. I can't stand to listen to them afraid I would get too upset.

1. MSNBC is no better in that regard.
They too pushed and overplayed ISIS and ebola.
I will stay with the net and foreign news, ABC, BBC, CBC, Al Jazeera, RT, The Guardian, NDTV, Asia Times, etc...... |

2. turn them off. Comcast owns MSNBC so they are Comcast employees
don't watch any cable news and we will be able to put them out of business.

13. You are correct. People are most energized when they are underdogs.
And they'll tune in and shake their fists. The Talking Heads will have to step it up a notch.
I wish some of those fist shakers had worked a little harder to GOTV. |

4. They're energized,
and recognize humor when appropriate. They're providing a lot of useful background info, history and facts, in an informative way. Its their job.

10. No, its not going to be "fun".
It's going to be awful, because this is real and people will suffer.

6. Why not?
They're all millionaires. They won't be the ones suffering when the president begins compromising. "Hurr durr looky this race over here, this is like back in 72 when..." They don't operate in the real world. |

7. If you are a Liberal/Democratic pundit, Repubs controlling any branch of gov't gives you a target
to complain about and point out all of their stupidity. It writes your material for you.
Add that the GOP has no platform and no mandate in terms of issues on which to try to govern as a coequal branch, and the normal stupid stuff they do and say, and you have fodder for a lot of TV coverage. |

12. DU goes in hard on Chris Matthews, but I've been warning ya'll about Rachel Maddow for years.
Chick is in this for the money and ratings. Sure, she's smart. But this is a game for them. It's like betting on sports.
Maddow doesn't care even if her home state of MA just elected a Republican governor. She's still paid. Chris doesn't care. He lives in Bethesda, Maryland--in the wealthiest county in the state. MY STATE!! A state that just voted for a Republican governor because the rich white folk are angry about high taxes. Tweety will be fine. The rest of them live in either New York or California. They'll be fine. This is a job. Hey, if I were Ed Schultz, I'd give up my radio talk show too, even though he promised us--he swore to us that he would never do such a thing. But that Comcast/GE money looked too good to pass up. And the talk radio show was talking up 3 or 4 hours a day whereas the T.V. is only an hour on air. No problem. Give up the talk radio show. Now we have ZERO really influential progressive talkers other than Joe Madison and maybe Mike Malloy. I have no interest in watch MSNBC. And frankly we all should boycott the network. |
