Jerry Brown

I realize Calif is a more democratic state, but I think at a national level that Jerry Brown is sort of a model that the dems need to think about emulating. Fiscal hawk so he takes that issue away from the GOP, but progressive?

2. Jerry Brown is probably our most accomplished governor--sadly he's also one of our oldest.

I'm of the opinion that successful governors generally make the best presidents. They know how to get stuff done, how to pick staff, etc. They know how to act when disaster strikes and how to get things through a legislature.

I had hopes for Brian Schweitzer, love the dog, but he seems to have foot in mouth disease. Andrew Cuomo has all the personality of a steamroller and is tied so tight to Wall Street that when he sneezes Goldman Sachs hands him a hankie.

Maybe Jerry could run as a "one term only" candidate vowing to get things moving again like he did in California. If he's still up for a second term, he could always change his mind.
