Just saw McConnell on MSNBC smiling and happily answering questions. He said there will be

no government shutdowns, and apparently is going to cooperate.

We'll have to wait and see, of course. But, if that is the policy the Republicans
will be following from now on, this change is too sudden to bring any comfort.

My first guess is that the Republican leadership is aware that if they are going
to be ugly as they have been in the past, they might very well have a lot of
people voting against them in 2016. It's more practical for them to play nice
for two years. This would give them a better chance of winning all three
branches of government in Nov. 2016.

Don't believe for a second that he will cooperate with anyone who wants to put this country on a better path.

on the debt. Those pigs are crazy. I predict we will see a constant flow of bills to kill the ACA, kill SS, kill Medicare, kill food stamps, kill Medicaid, kill civil rights laws, kill voting rights laws.

even if he wants to. They will remain just as ugly for the next two years as they have been since 2008. The Cruz/Teabag wing would rather risk defeat in 2016 (though they arrogantly don't think that will happen) rather than compromise with Obama, Dems, or even the marginally less insane members of their own party. The main event of the Senate will be a power struggle between McConnell and Cruz.

blame it on Obama and the Dems for not cooperating and being the Party that obstructs. That's how it's going to go down. If the Dems try and do what the Rethugs have been doing for the last 6 years - they along with MSM will make the Dems out to be the bad guys.

They'll be saying that the Dems are using the filibuster to obstruct. They'll threaten to invoke the nuclear option and just might go ahead and do it.

If President Obama vetoes legislation that comes across his desk or if he uses Executive Orders to make things happen - they'll call him a bad guy; they'll continue to say he is trying to be a dictator; they continue to say that he is being non-cooperative.

I have heard him say the first thing they will vote on is to repeal the ACA. That way he gets to show the country which Dems who are
up for re-election in 2016 voted no. However, I believe in 2016 there will be like 21 Rs up for re-election to 12 Democrats so we will take back the Senate in 2016. These guys cannot govern and it will show. The President can make some deals to get things past but he can sell out to the Rs because that will just turn off some Democrats when they vote for President in 2016.

That's what Repubs offer as a 'compromise.'

I'll believe Mitch when I see it. And I'll still doubt it.
