The best thing Obama can do for the next two years is to go around congress and veto.

If the republicans can win the house by playing to their base then we can can too. That means more executive orders helping gays and immigrants as well as going back to why Obama was loved by the country so much in the first place- make big speeches to sway people to his side and support progressive causes. Since we don't have the power anymore we symbolism will go a long way.
If not any bill he signs will only further the republican agenda and elect a republican president in 2016. Let's not forget that after Clinton's moderation that we had bush because people couldn't tell the difference between him and Gore. Now is the time to draw the line and try to make our case to the people not compromise.

The only hope is that the TP revolts and Cruz starts a war. Obama doesn't even have to veto. Senate Democrats can pull the same filibuster as the Republicans. But they won't. And McConnell will change the Senate rules as the first order of business. Maybe Sanders or Warren will pull some old style talking filibusters as that would be worth watching.

Bills that will gain wide appeal by the American People. One thing that comes to mind is to put some bills in before the Rethugs do - to tweak ACA and make it better. They should put up some real common sense infrastructure rebuilding bills Anything that the American People can get behind in mass. Dare the Rethugs to shoot them down. Make the Rethugs look bad everytime they do shoot them down and keep the chatter up anytime they appear on a Sunday show or news show that the Rethugs really don't have the American People's best interest in mind.

The Dems and the President really need to go on the offensive and not let up for the next two years.

but it's not enough to call them out (which Obama's been doing for 6 years) if media doesn't report it.

All we've had from corporate media the last 6 years is how bad Obama and his initiatives are (ObamaCare, stimulus, etc.) and little real scrutiny of the radical agenda Republicans are proposing. Every detail needs to be exposed. If Republicans call for tax cuts for the wealthy, show how it means less tax cuts for the working class and less spending on a crumbling infrastructure. Show the consequences of any change to ObamaCare or proposed privatization of Medicare that sneaks into legislation.
