I am so tired of the explanations of why we lost...

Old saying..Analyzation leads to paralyzation..Exactly what is going on in D.U right now.

Most of the explanations as to why we lost have some merit, but so many are missing the essential point..

We currently have a huge portion of our electorate in a dumbed down frenzy.. The Republicans handily won this election because ,simply they ran on the fear element.. Fear of thuggery coming into your neighborhood..hoards of illegal aliens pouring into our country camouflaging Ebola and ISIS, while our president sits on his hands and does nothing...The LGBT Community coming after our innocent Children.. Obama inviting the U.N into our country to round up all our guns... This is the crap they ran on and they were able to do so due to the millions upon millions of advertising revenue which corporate America readily handed over to the Republican Candidates and their operatives...Not to mention the 95% of Media which never question any of their lies.

Yep they won because they were able to scare the shit out of a very important part of the electorate which when confronted with something they don’t understand always seem to vote for the tough guy who will protect their family, even though the tough guy ain’t too bright which they recognize..

An edited note: Our current brand of elected democratic elected reps mostly stink.. They seem weak, disorganized and fumbling when on T.V. project a rather inept image.. Yep, we need to throw into the ring some people who understand how to fight back, similar to the old democratic political guys, who back then knew how to throw a punch.. Roosevelt, Truman, Johnson knew how to deal with adversaries. Rarely backed down..

on the radio have been saying since the drubbing we got that we must 'keep fighting'. That's exactly what we haven't been doing. The Dems didn't fight for the win this election. It is almost like they rolled over and threw the election.

There are so many things that they could have done including running with Obama and not against him and patting ourselves on the back for how this country has done a turn around from BushCo to defining the differences between the Party's and letting voters understand why they are voting against their best interests when they vote Rethug.

We/They didn't do any of these. Even the Dems GOTV effort was half assed.

will make that ignorance go away pretty quickly. It's happened before and will happen again and again and again. When you are talked into buying a pretty bag of shit, you have to open it sometime.

The fact that Democrats ran as business as usual DLC types didn't help any of them.

If you watch any of the TV "news" shows, you might as well get used to the next 3-6 months being nothing but analyzation of the 2014 midterms, then the 2016 election will run into more of their time. The TV "news" and they are all guilty are simply about the horse race and only once in awhile (usually when it is a lead in to the horse race discussion) about an issue. It is the game of how they generate ratings and hence revenues. We all know that anything resembling journalism is long ago dead.

I no longer watch any CNN, CBS, NBC (and MSNBC), ABC. Just once in awhile AJ and a bit of the Weather Channel until I can't take their version of weather alarmist repetitive talk.

to be my "default" channel, but it got increasingly silly. Then they started that stupid naming of winter storms. When the (Direct TV?) dispute that resulted in Direct TV cutting TWC from their lineup and TWC company man and big star Jim Cantore did a commercial alleging that people would die because they couldn't get TWC I finally stopped watching. Now I look online at forecasts from Accuweather (and sometimes Weather Underground).

Democrats who were running went out of their way to avoid even mentioning him, much less using his accomplishments to separate themselves from the do nothing Republicans for the last 6 years or so. The media was full of idiots claiming Obama is UNPOPULAR!!! now.

Everybody knows that Mitch McConnell is probably the single most unpopular Republican ever yet he gets re-elected. The stink on that is very obvious. No one seems to remember the incredible amount of gerrymandering going on in many states, plus disenfranchising voters by passing draconian laws for less voting days, less voting places and too damn many identification cards. That's how that a**hole won. That and spending a ton of his own money.
