I'm sure Drudge has his siren up, right? Obama leads in today's Rasmussen poll...

Cause, you know, the media consistently played up that one Rasmussen poll that had Romney up 8 last week. So, it's only fair, right, that they'll do something like this...

[div style=text-align:center;]

ROMNEY'S NUMBERS COLLAPSE, DOWN 9 POINTS SINCE LAST WEEK - CAMPAIGN IN CRISIS?

Today's poll has Romney trailing Obama by 1.

Remember when the Republicans claimed that Al Gore was stiff? Well, this is *THEIR* stiff!

"Listen to his laugh. It resembles the flat “Ha! Ha! Ha!” that appears in comic-strip dialogue balloons. But worse – far worse – it is mirthless. Mr. Romney expects us to be amused, although he himself is not amused. Freeze the frame, cover the bottom of his face with your hand, and study his eyes. There’s no pleasure there, no amusement. Genuine laughter is triggered only by, and is completely dependent on, shared perception. That’s why we say we “get” a joke."

A sort of "friend" on Facebook linked that whole new birther controversy about someone saying he was born in Kenya as some absolute truth. The idiots are willing to believe anything that reinforces their hatred of Obama no matter how outrageous it is.

I think they are getting desperate in trying to make something stick.

It just going to get uglier every time Mitwits poll numbers drop.

I think this just proves how absurd their polls are. A 9 point swing in a matter of days? Impractical without some devastating scandal.

So, I don't get why you feel we all 'love' Rasmussen now.

Gallup has Romney up by 3 and they did have Obama up a couple days ago. Despite what the conspiracy theory crowd says I think the race is very close at this point.

It's why I don't trust daily tracking polls. They're erratic. No candidate is going to drop 9 points in a week unless of some bombshell scandal that devastates his/her campaign. It just doesn't happen.

Rasmussen and Gallup shouldn't be taken seriously at all. No tracking poll should, really.

With that said, you're right. The popular vote will be close, as it almost always is, but this election isn't close - as Obama leads in most swing states.

They don't rely on the public polls. Also the campaigns never release their results.

I don't care if the campaign does. I don't. Romney has not dropped 9 points in one week. That is a devastating collapse and would prove a campaign is in the dire straights. It just doesn't work that way. Tracking polls are not accurate in the sense they have huge outliers - like Rasmussen putting Romney at +8 just a week ago.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows President Obama earning 47% of the vote and Mitt Romney attracting 44% support. Five percent (5%) would vote for a third party candidate, while another five percent (5%) are undecided.

The running little Fox tv ad on the side says it's only 1%. Is that the court permission to lie kicking in again?
